SCR-I Makes It Back-to-Back Wins Over Rams
Just days after besting Schuyler County in the North Shelby Tournament, the Tigers gave an encore performance in Queen City, knocking off the Rams 58-44 in a Tri-Rivers Conference contest.
Cordie Kigar drilled a pair of three-pointers in the opening period helping SCR-I pull ahead 13-12.
Three-pointers by Kigar and Chris Jackson helped add to the margin in the second period as Scotland County went ahead 28-23. Field goals by Brice Cowell and Jacob Blessing helped provide the cushion.
SCR-I continued to build the lead in the third period, outscoring the Rams 16-10. Lucas Howard had eight points during the stretch.
The fourth period was much of the same, as the Tigers outscored Schuyler County 14-11. Field goals by Zach Doubet and Cowell helped make up for some struggles at the free throw line for SCR-I, which went four of eight down the stretch.
Howard finished with 19 points to help SCR-I get back to .500 on the season at 8-8. Kigar had a season-high 15 points and Cowell pitched in with 10 points.
