Shopko Employee Facing Felony Stealing Charge
A Shopko employee is facing a felony stealing charge after company personnel uncovered nearly $2,000 missing from the store's registers over a three-month period.
Ashlee Stott, 28, of Arbela has been charged with the class C felony of stealing.
Stott was arrested at the Shopko Store in Memphis on December 4th by the Memphis Police Department.
An internal investigation by store management and Shopko's regional loss prevention directors identified shortages in the Memphis store's registers dating back to October.
Video footage helped the store identify Stott as a suspect.
Overall, $1,845 was reported stolen in six separate incidents.
Stott was booked at the Scotland County Sheriff's Office and released on her own personal recognizance.
Arraignment is scheduled for December 18th at 9:00 a.m. in the Scotland County Court before Judge Karl DeMarce.
