Filing Period to Close Tuesday for April Elections

Candidates have until the end of the day on Tuesday, January 17th, to file for a number of governmental boards to be decided at the April 3rd election.

Three candidates have already signed up for the two available seats on the Scotland County R-I Board of Education. Michelle Kleine will seek a seat on the school board. Incumbents Gary Miller and Dr. Randy Tobler have filed for re-election.

In the city of Memphis, incumbents have filed for all three vacancies. Mayor William Reckenberg will seek re-election, as will east ward alderman Tom Glass and west ward alderman Chris Feeney.

Filing is also underway for the Gorin R-III School District, municipal boards in Downing, Arbela, Gorin and Rutledge as well as the governing boards for the nursing home, ambulance and hospital districts and the rural water board.
