NORMA IRENE (BERRY) SMALL

Norma Irene Small, 78 of Queen City, Missouri, formerly of Lancaster, Missouri passed away at the Northeast Regional Medical Center in Kirksville, Missouri on Monday, March 21, 2011, which was also the 63rd anniversary of her marriage to Thomas Andrew Small.
The daughter of James L. Berry and Emma Elizabeth (Parr) Berry Kimball, she was born on May 16, 1932 in Chariton, Iowa. On March 21, 1948 in Chariton, Iowa, she was united in marriage to Thomas Andrew Small and to this union four children were born, Thomas Allen, Susan Alene, Barry Lewis and James Brian.
Mr. and Mrs. Small farmed in southern Davis County, Iowa for many years prior to moving to Lancaster, Missouri where she was employed for many years as the City Clerk with the City of Lancaster.
Survivors include her children, Susan Brown and fiancÚ, Jeff Allerman of Keokuk, Iowa and Brian Small and wife, Susan of Hartsburg, Missouri; 7 grandchildren, Letha Brown, Shannon Brown and wife, Heidi, Jennifer Small, Andy Small, Alex Small, Susan Small and Robert Small; 5 great grandchildren; 1 step brother, Dr. Richard Kimball of Burns, Oregon and other family members.
She was preceded in death by her mother; step father, Donald Kimball; her husband, Thomas Andrew Small on June 2, 2004 and two sons, Thomas Allen Small on May 1, 2008 and Barry Lewis Small on November 29, 2004; 1 son-in-law, George Fanning on July 29, 2005; 1 sister, Venietta Sellers and one brother, James Berry.
Irene cherished the time she was able to spend with her family and friends, as they were a very important part of her life.
Graveside services were held on Saturday, March 26, 2011 at the Arni Memorial Cemetery in Lancaster, Missouri with Sonny Smyser, pastor of the Schuyler County Church of Faith officiating.
Memorials have been established for the Schuyler County Library.
Arrangements are under the direction of the Norman Funeral Home of Lancaster, Missouri.
