Chamber Announces Christmas Happenings

The Memphis Area Chamber of Commerce is in the Christmas Spirit. The local merchants' group has a couple of activities scheduled as the holiday approaches.

Santa will be at the V.F.W. on Saturday, December 17th, handing out candy and taking kids' wish lists. Children can receive free fire truck rides from the Memphis Theatre following the conclusion of the matinee showing of Mr. Poppers' Penguins. Doors open at the theatre for the show at 1 p.m. and admission is a canned food item for the food pantry. The movie starts at 1:30 p.m.

The program is sponsored by the Chamber, the V.F.W. and the theatre.

Also on Saturday, the MACC will announce the winners in the Christmas decorating contests. First prize for the residential category is $80 in Memphis Bucks with second receiving $60 and third place earning $40 in Memphis Bucks.
