Remains of Stolen Vehicle Found Near Edina

A vehicle stolen from Scotland County overnight on Saturday was discovered Sunday morning near Edina.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol reported the remnants of a 1999 Chevy pickup were found in a field off a gravel road close to Edina. The truck had been burned and was a total loss.

The truck was reported stolen from the Edwin Brubaker property located at the intersection of Route M and Highway 15 south of Memphis.

Investigators reported the truck was believed to have been taken sometime between 9:00 p.m. Saturday night and 4:30 a.m. Sunday morning.

A joint investigation into the crimes is underway by the Scotland and Knox County Sheriff’s departments as well as the Highway Patrol.
