Brooke Shoop Memorial Youth Turkey Hunt Set for April 4th–5th

The special youth turkey season in Missouri is April 4th and 5th. Several area sponsors have joined together once again to help honor the memory of one special youngster with the Third Annual Brooke Shoop Memorial Youth Spring Turkey Hunt.

No pre-registration is required. Successful youth hunters simply need to bring their turkey to the Extreme Taxidermy building on the south side of the Memphis square. Weigh-ins will be held from 8:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday.

A free supper for all participants will be held April 5th at 7:00 p.m.

Prizes will be awarded for the top four birds based on weight, and beard and spur length. Top prize is a full-body turkey mount. Second prize is a full-shoulder turkey mount. Third prize is a full wing mount and fourth prize will be a fan mount.

In addition, all participants will be entered into a drawing for a youth model 20-gauge shotgun to be given away at the event.

The contest is being sponsored by Extreme Taxidermy, Tague Steel & Iron, LLC, National Wild Turkey Federation and J & S Trophy Hunts.
