School Board Handles Light Agenda at January Meeting
The Scotland County R-I Board of Education handled a relatively light agenda for the regular January 17th meeting. All seven members were present to handle just four items of new business.
The board voted 7-0 to approve the annual renewal for the Missouri School Board Association Policy Maintenance Service. The board received the annual assessment from MSBA for the policy manual maintenance service. The assessment was in the amount of $1,771.33.
This service includes the updating of policies, procedures, and forms to meet the requirements of any new legislation.
Due to a scheduling conflict, the March board meeting was moved to March 10th at 6:30 p.m. The regularly scheduled meeting was set for March 12th but the annual MARE meeting is also March 12th-14th. The board voted 7-0 to move the March board meeting date to Tuesday evening so that they will be able to attend the annual M.A.R.E. meeting.
The board voted 7-0 to set a Winter Workshop date of March 19th at 6:30 p.m.
In its final piece of business, the board voted 7-0 to accept Heather Whitney’s letter of resignation with regret to be effective at the end of this school year. Whitney is a fifth grade teacher at the elementary school.
