Johnston Honored By Tri-Rivers Conference Coaches
A year after Courtney Shuman took her game to the collegiate level, there was still a familiar name atop the Tri-Rivers All-Conference list, which was released last week.
Clark County’s Kassidy Shuman was named the TRC Most Valuable Player after leading the Lady Indians to the league title. Kassidy will follow her sister to Quincy University next year to play basketball.
Joining Shuman on the first team were fellow seniors Brittany Casady of Putnam County, Tahnee Poe of Schuyler County, Dalyn Collins of Brookfield, and Daryl Goldie of Clark County.
Scotland County’s Kirsten Johnston was named to the second team all-coference by the league coaches. Also receiving second team honors were Amanda Winters, a senior from Clark County, Katie Steele and Hilary Mason, juniors from Putnam County, and Kaitlin Stump a sophomore from Schuyler County.
The third team consisted of Brookfield senior Kelli Alexander, Schuyler County senior Tara Verkuilen, Knox County junior Tessa Ramer, Milan sophomore Carly Bohle and Putnam County junior Jamie Mullenix.
The TRC Coach of the Year honors went to Putnam County’s Mike Schmidli.
