Sara Eggleston Named HAAC Pitcher of the Week

Culver-Stockton College pitcher Sara Eggleston has been named the Heart of America Athletic Conference (HAAC) Pitcher of the Week for her performance in helping the Wildcats to a 3-2 record last week.

Eggleston, a senior from Memphis, (Scotland County R-I High School), went 2-0 with a save in four appearances last week. She won both of her starts, including a 4-1 victory over Oklahoma City University, the top-ranked team in the NAIA Preseason Top 25 national poll, and a 5-1 victory against NCAA Division II opponent Lincoln (Mo.) University. Eggleston also picked up a save in the Wildcats’ 11-9 victory over Lincoln in the second game of the season-opening doubleheader.

For the week, Eggleston hurled 19 innings and recorded a 1.11 earned run average. She totaled six strikeouts, gave up 11 hits. Opponents batted .159 against her with just one extra base hit.
