Timber Ridge Hosts Couples Golf Scramble
Forty golfers took part in the annual two-couple golf scramble held at Timber Ridge Golf Course in Memphis on Sunday, June 8th.
The team of Flanagan and Shirey took top honors shooting six under par on the day. The two couples scored a 62 in the 18 hole event to edge the team of Dave Shalley, Ken McMinn, JoBeth Harvey and Leslie Clark who shot a 64 to earn second place. The team of Wolter and Martin finished in third with a round of 66.
In the B flight it was the team of Frazier and Feeney that won a tie-breaker to take home the top prize. The two couples carded a 67, tieing with the team of Dohman and Miller. But a card off was settled on hole #4 where the Frazier/Feeney team recorded a birdie.
The team of Bob and Angela Newman and Dennis and Mary Ann Robertson was third with a 69.
Mark Wolter won the 50/50 prize on hole #3 with a tee shot just 68 inches from the flag. Angela Newman won the womenís prize with the closest shot to the pin.
Timber Ridge Golf Course will host its annual Fatherís Day Tournament this Sunday with both morning and afternoon sessions. The course is also planning a new event this June, with a croquet tournament on tap in the coming weeks. Watch for more details.
