Seat Belt Saves Driver in Concrete Truck Crash
Seat belt use is being credited with preventing serious injuries for a Downing man involved in a one-vehicle accident in Scotland County on Monday.
According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, James G. Siver, 43, of Downing was driving a 1996 Ford concrete truck owned by M & O Concrete of Memphis. Siver was eastbound on Highway 136, 10 miles west of Memphis, when the vehicle traveled off the right side of the roadway where it overturned and came to rest on its side.
The driver suffered minor injuries and was transported by private vehicle to Scotland County Memorial Hospital for treatment.
The crash occurred at 11:50 a.m. on October 13th. The crash was investigated by the highway patrol, assisted by the Scotland County Sheriff’s Department.
