Tigers Compete at Clark County Relays

The Scotland County R-I boys track team traveled to Kahoka April 13th for the Clark County Relays and for the first time this season was at full strength.

Trey Crow had a strong meet for the Tigers. He finished fourth in the 400-meter run and also was a member of the 4x200 meter relay team that took second place. He teamed with Bryce Blomme, Grant Blomme and Matt Wickert in the event.

That trio was joined by Joe Spurgeon in the 400-meter relay to finish fourth.

Casey Parrish picked up second place points for the team with a strong performance in the 1,600-meter run.

Eric Glass finished third in the 200-meter run.

The SCR-I 4x100 meter relay team of Jeff Kice, Marcus Shalley and Bryce and Grant Blomme, earned third place.

The Scotland County 4x800-meter relay team finished fifth. It consisted of Ben Wiley, Nathan Purvis, Chance Auld and Dylan Gelbach.

Purvis also finished sixth in the 800-meter run.

“I was pleased with our performances,” said coach Doug Baker. “The athletes are really starting to compete well with the other schools. There were a lot of great races and runs from multiple athletes.”
