Paraders to Pack Eight City Blocks Prior to March
A parade of the length the Scotland Count Antique Fair has become known for takes more organization, and more space than one might think.
Six separate sections of parade entries will cover more than eight city blocks as organizers begin forming the marching order for the event at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, August 25th.
The next hour will be spent organizing each category while the judges work through the crowd grading entries.
The antique tractors will gather before the parade on Adams Street, beginning at the Jefferson Street intersection and going north to the North street Intersection. The overflow of tractors from that block will park on North Street from the Adams Street intersection west all the way to Main Street if necessary.
The fire department and emergency service vehicles will form on Adams Street south of the Jefferson Street intersection to the Madison Street intersection.
Thatís where the royalty, bands and other walkers will be gathering on the northwest corner of the square, east down Madison Street.
The antique cars, scooters and other motorized vehicles will form on Adams Street between the Madison and Monroe Street intersections.
The next two blocks south on Adams Street will feature the various Antique Fair floats.
The horses and wagons will gather on Adams Street south of the Jones Street intersection to complete the parade.
