Resa K’s 17 in 7-5 Loss for Lady Tigers
It’s fitting that North Shelby’s pitcher Kelsey Resa has a name that starts with a K. That was her letter of choice September 26 in Memphis as she struck out 17 batters, including 11 of the game’s first 12 outs in the Raiders 7-5 win over Scotland County.
The Lady Tigers managed just two hits off Resa in the first five innings.
But trailing 7-0 in the sixth frame, the offense made it interesting. With two outs Tara Matlock singled to start the rally. After Deidra Dochterman singled, Valerie Oldham delivered a base hit to ruin the shutout. A walk to Kellyn Wickert loaded the bases for Kaela Cook who delivered a bases-clearing triple. Lacey Jack drove her home with a base knock but the rally ended with the Lady Tigers trailing 7-5.
Resa regained her dominating form in the final inning to nail down the victory.
