Arbela Couple Injured In Wreck Near Atlanta
An Arbela couple sustained moderate injuries in a one-car accident on Highway 63 south of Atlanta, MO at 11:40 a.m. on June 20th
Richard H. Stevenson, 71, and his wife, Twila, 69, were southbound on Highway 63 in a 1994 Ford when, according to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, the vehicle traveled off the west shoulder of the roadway where it struck a mailbox before hitting an embankment and overturning. The car came to rest on its top in the ditch.
The couple was extricated from the vehicle by the Macon Rescue Squad and the Atlanta Fire Department. They were taken by Macon County Ambulance to Good Samaritan Hospital in Macon.
The Macon County Sheriff’s Department assisted the patrol at the scene of the accident.
