Fuller’s Last-Second Shot Seals Victory
It took a last-second shot to snatch victory from the jaws of defeat, but Scotland County remains unbeaten on the young basketball season. The Lady Tigers improved to 3-0 while advancing to the finals of the Novinger Tourney with a 41-40 victory over the host team in the semifinals on December 1st.
Jamie Fuller scored six points during the SCR-I fourth quarter rally, including the go-ahead bucket in the contest’s final seconds to secure the win.
Novinger built a 17-14 halftime lead as Scotland County was unable to get on track offensively in a slow-paced game.
The Lady Tigers picked up the scoring in the third period, hitting for 15 points. But Novinger kept pace and maintained a 31-29 advantage heading into the final eight minutes.
Angie Bulen converted a pair of buckets during a key stretch of the fourth period before Fuller took over.
Ali Fromm scored 11 points to lead SCR-I in scoring. Kirsten Johnston contributed 10 points and Fuller and Bulen each added eight points on the night.
