Water Rates Subject Of Work Session

The Memphis Board of Aldermen held an informal workshop prior to the March 3 City Council meeting to review the financial situation of the city’s water fund.

No official action was taken by the council. Members reviewed salary allocations, reserve funds, and various water rate options as the city board considers the possibility of raising water rates charged to residential and commercial customers.

A second workshop regarding the water fund was scheduled for March 8.
