Lady Tigers Earn Top Seed, Boys Ranked #2 For District Playoffs
Both Scotland County teams will get to sit on the sidelines for the opening round of the Class 2 District 5 playoffs beginning March 1 in Queen City at Schuyler County High School.
SCR-I received the top seed in the girls bracket courtesy of at least one victory over each of the five other teams in the district. The Lady Tigers receive a bye in the opening round of the event and will await the winner of the Milan (#4) and Princeton (#5) contest on Monday night. SCR-I will take to the court in the semi-finals at 7:30 p.m. March 3rd.
At the bottom of the bracket the second seeded Canton squad will have a bye in the opening round awaiting the winner of the Monday night game between Schuyler County (#3) and Knox County (#6). That semi-final contest is set for 4:30 p.m. March 3rd.
The girls championship game is scheduled for March 5th at 6:00 p.m.
The boys brackets is pretty similar to the girls side except with a few teams flip-flopped.
Canton earned the top seed and will wait for the winner of Knox County (#4) vs. Princeton (#5).
The Tigers received the second seed and also will receive a bye. The SCR-I boys will battle the winner of the Schuyler County (#3) and Milan (#6) game. That semi-final game is scheduled for 9:00 p.m. March 3rd.
The boys championship match is set for Friday, March 5th at 7:30 p.m.
All District 5 games are being hosted by the Schuyler County district in Queen City.
