DONITA KAY ROBBINS

Donita Kay Robbins, 52, of Jefferson City, Missouri, died November 3, 2004 at Capital Region Medical Center. She was born January 26, 1952 in Kirksville, MO, the daughter of Donald and Betty Jo (Saxton) Robbins. Donita graduated Summa Cum Laude in 1974 from Truman State University with a degree in Sociology and Criminology.
She worked for over 20 years in juvenile social work for the State of Iowa and later, the Bremwood Lutheran Home in Waverly, Iowa. She was currently employed as the Director of Policy Studies, Inc. in Jefferson City, MO.
She enjoyed gardening, collecting antiques, and restoring older houses and had a special knack for decorating. While she excelled both professionally and in her personal hobby pursuits, her greatest joy was her family, most especially, her daughter Valerie and granddaughter, Aurora. Donita was a kind, generous and loving individual. She was always readily available to both family and friends whenever they needed her.
She is survived by her daughter, Valerie DeBerg and fiancée, Michael Jett, of Jefferson City, MO; granddaughter, Aurora DeBerg of Jefferson City, MO; son-in-law, Curtis DeBerg, of Jefferson City, MO; her mother, Betty Jo Robbins Bissell, of Jefferson City, MO; one sister, Sherry King-Kupferle and husband, William Kupferle of St. Louis, MO; two brothers, David Robbins and wife, Elaine of Marshall, MO; Scott Robbins and wife, Millie of Russellville, MO; three nephews, Samuel Alexander, of Jefferson City, MO; Brennen Robbins, of Kansas City, MO; Donnie Robbins, of Russellville, MO; one niece, Michelle Robbins of Marshall, MO; two aunts, one uncle and several cousins and friends.
A memorial service was held November 6, 2004 at the United Methodist Church, Memphis, MO with Pastor Terry Lippstreu officiating. Burial was in the Conyers Cemetery. Honorary pallbearers were Darrell Harvey, Charlie Boyer, Jed Hinds and Gerry Carney.
