Local Teen Shot In Deer Hunting Accident
At 5:30 p.m. Tuesday, November 16, the Scotland County Sheriff’s Department responded to a report of a gunshot victim in rural Scotland County, north of Memphis.
Officers arrived at the scene and located a teenager that suffered an accidental, hunting-related shooting. The individual was transported by private vehicle to Scotland County Memorial Hospital and later flown by air ambulance to Blessing Hospital in Quincy, IL.
All names and other details related to the shooting are being withheld pending further investigation by the sheriff’s department in conjunction with the Missouri Department of Conservation.
