Pepsi Tournament Helps Raise Money For Timber Ridge Golf Course
Eighteen four-man teams converged on Timber Ridge golf course Wednesday, May 21 to compete in the annual Pepsi Golf Tournament to help raise money for the course.
The benefit event ended with a tie in both the championship flight as well as in the A-flight. The ties were broken with a contest on hole nine. All four players on each team had one shot from the 100-yard marker to see who could get closest to the pin.
First place in the championship flight went to the KYOU Fox 15 team consisting of Jack McClain, Mike Willman, Adam Reed, Scott Childress. Second place was won by the team sponsored by Shelley B's. Team members were Andy Boyer, Mark Drummond, Jared Drummond and Jake McBee.
The winners in the A-flight finished the afternoon scoring four under par with a 64.
The tie-breaker went to the Farmers Insurance - Kirksville Auto Glass team of Eyad Al-Jundi, Rich Lewton, Jerry Hamen, Patrick O'Connor
Second place in the A-Flight was won by the Memphis Democrat - Hopkins Lumber team of Matt Cormier, Chris Feeney, Aaron Dannenhauer and P.J. Van Vactor.
In addition to the 18-hole golf tournament a number of skills contests were held throughout the day.
The Community Bank Putting Tournament was won by Scott Childress with second place going to Bryan Mattingly.
NEMO Distributing of Kirksville sponsored hole #1 donating a putter to the golfer with the closest shot to the 100-yard marker. The prize went to Dean Wischmeier.
Hole #2 was sponsored by Bradshaw Enterprises of Kansas City. Patrick O'Connor had the longest drive on the hole and won the golf package.
Pepsi sponsored a hole-in-one contest on hole #3. The golfers also played a 50/50 game for the shot closest to the pin. Dusty Baker's team won the contest on the front nine with Wayne Bradshaw winning the prize on the back nine.
Mickey Truck Bodies of Bloomington, IL sponsored hole #4 where Joe Roberts hit the longest putt to win a new putter.
Hole #5 was sponsored by KYOU Fox 15 of Ottumwa, IA. The TV station sponsored a golf package that went to Jake McBee for the second shot closest to the pin.
Hole #6 was sponsored by Simpson Printing of Kirksville. The closest 2nd shot to pin went to Wes Smith who won a golf package.
KTVO Channel 3 of Kirksville donated a golf bag for hole #7 where Kyle Crawford was the winner with the closest tee shot to the in.
Jake Brewer won a new golf bag on hole #8 courtesy of Little Jess Motors of Edina as he was the closest to pin on drive.
Aaron Dannenhauer sank a put of longer than 40 feet on hole #9 to win a golf bag from KRNQ 96.3 FM of Keokuk, IA.
