Arbela Man Injured In Four Wheeler Crash

An Arbela man remained in serious, but stable condition at Blessing Hospital the day after suffering a head injury in a four-wheeler crash in rural Scotland County.

According to the Scotland County Sheriff's Department, Justin M. Cowell, 23, sustained serious injuries in a crash on a gravel county road just west of Memphis at approximately 10:00 p.m. August 11.

Cowell was taken by Scotland County Ambulance to Scotland County Memorial Hospital. He was then taken by Life Flight helicopter to Quincy, IL. Cowell is being treated for fractured ribs and was being kept in intensive care for treatment of his head injury.
