Firemen Respond To Vehicle Fire East Of Memphis

The Scotland County Fire Department responded to a vehicle fire two miles east of the Arbela junction on Highway 136 at 12:45 p.m. July 11.

A suburban, owned by Doug Small of Baring, had caught fire in the engine compartment while the vehicle was stopped at a residence. A passing MFA truck driver used an extinguisher to douse the fire.

The vehicle suffered extensive damage. A car trailer, and the vehicle on it, which were being towed by the suburban, was not damaged by the blaze.
