Memphis Man Faces Felony Charges After June 28 Altercation

A Memphis man is facing a series of felony charges following an altercation June 28 on the corner of Monroe and Market streets in Memphis.

Charles "Chuck" Smith, 41, was taken into custody at 2:27 a.m. by the Memphis Police Department. He faces a class C felony charge of assault in the second degree. He also has been charged with class C felony tampering in the first degree and class D felony unlawful use of a weapon.

Smith was taken to the Scotland County Jail where he was being held on $50,000 cash only bond.
